“…Do Not Pass Me By”

This might be too raw

or maybe it’s not raw. Perhaps it’s simply honest. 

Do you ever ask God why He blesses some people and not you? 

Specifically people who are clearly sinning…like that’s half the problem you have with it -watching them get a Blessing when what they clearly need is Butt Whipping. 

The other half of the problem is why He’s blessing THEM with the things YOU want 🤦🏾‍♀️ . Like come on Abba, can’t I catch a break here?

The other day, a friend of mine -because it clearly wouldn’t have been me- said she was doing this exact thing. 

She was laying in bed having an honest conversation with the creator of the universe. You know, the one who spoke this world into existence.

It went a little something like this: 

“God You stay blessing other people 

{Which I admit is grossly presumptuous and severely ungrateful; while at the same, I have to be real with how I feel}and I’m laying in my bed

Alone

at night

wondering which bill is gonna get paid next week because 

I sure can’t pay them all. 

It would be different if this financial turn of events was because of any fault of my own.

But NO! I’m struggling (well having to tighten up a lot) mainly because I thought I was following You and Your will for my life. 

Then, as if to add insult to injury, some dude I used to date,who I ABSOLUTELY do NOT want to reconnect with,

OUT OF THE BLUE

texts and calls me for a week straight saying he misses me and wants to take me out. 

The persistent -borderline stalker- goes so far as to send me receipts showing the over a quarter of a million dollar profit he just secured. 

🤬 The devil is a liar. 

🤔 But little Lucifer also knows I could use 2 (maybe 3 🍆, 😳 ) of the things this brother is clearly offering right now 😩 !

LAWD You know I don’t want these problems;

Jesus of Nazareth, Son of the Living God fall afresh on me 🙌🏾!!

I’m just over here minding my business and trying to do right in the middle of a pandemic.

back when hymns were moaned out over creaky pews and dusty wooden floors
